Can you hear my sigh of relief? As an 8th House Capricorn Sun, Venus and Mercury, let me assure you that it has been hard. One of the toughest stations along the way was definitely the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn which was exact on my 50th birthday in 2020. The karmic lessons accelerated from there and the crescendo started building at the end of 2022. I am not the same person as I was in 2008. Nor am I the same person I was at the start of 2020. I’m sure many of us can say the same.
Collectively, Pluto's transit through Capricorn has been a period marked by a (brutally) transformative force in the structures and foundations that govern societies. The global financial crisis of 2008 served as a striking initiation into this transit, challenging established financial institutions and prompting a profound restructuring in economic systems. At the end of the transit, there are talks about shifting to an entirely digital financial system. Banks have vanished from small towns and villages. Some places of business no longer accept cash.
During this transit, Pluto's influence has cast a relentless spotlight on the flaws and weaknesses within political systems and corporate entities, driving a quest for greater accountability, integrity, and stability. This has been a cycle that has encouraged the dismantling of outdated and corrupt frameworks while hopefully paving the way for building new, more resilient structures. We can see clearly what wasn’t working as we emerge from this karmic cycle, surrounded by crumbling structures of power and finance. Fingers crossed that Pluto’s new journey through forward-thinking Aquarius will give us the clarity humanity needs to rebuild for the Highest Good.
Pluto’s journey through Capricorn has prompted a period of soul-searching for many of us. If you feel tired from it all, the card of the day, the 4 of Swords, invites you to take a day of rest.
Affirmation: “I enter into the silence to allow my soul to catch up.”
The Four of Swords
With 4 of Swords, Jupiter in Libra, as our card of the day we receive an invitation into a sanctuary of serenity and recuperation. We are urged to step away from the relentless rhythm of daily life for a much-needed interlude. The 4 of Swords softly prompts us to practice self-care, to take a breath, to reflect and mend the delicate tapestry of our minds and hearts.
It's a good day to pause, recharge our batteries and allow our souls to catch up with our minds. Truly resting, we give ourselves the chance to gain clarity and composure, aligning once more with our deepest goals and desires. It's a perfect day for journaling and reflecting on the karmic Pluto in Capricorn cycle.
We have a double whammy of Jupiter energy in today’s card. Not only is the Planetary correspondence Jupiter in Libra but because it’s a four, it falls in the fourth sephira on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, ruled by Jupiter.
The two corresponding Major Arcana cards are Justice (Libra) and The Wheel of Fortune (Jupiter).
Corresponding Crystal - Chiastolite
Chiastolite, with its distinctive cross pattern that symbolises balance and harmony, can provide grounding and protection in times of change. Tapping into the crystal's stabilising energy can make it easier to integrate recent changes. It can also help us release grief anger and frustration. Chastolite is a wonderful stone to work with for those who suffer from anxiety. It offers a sense of calm and clarity.
Corresponding Archangel - Raphael
O Archangel Raphael, divine healer and guide,
In your boundless compassion, hear my earnest plea.
In the shadow of your wings, I wish to rest and hide;
In your emerald light may my spirit be set free.
In moments of weariness and trials profound,
I call upon you to set free that which is bound.
Refresh my body, restore my mind,
Let your healing balm be by grace assigned.
O great physician of the angelic realm,
Thank you for keeping me centred and calm
Revive my vigour, rekindle my zest,
Protected by you, I am truly blessed.
Your wings enfold me in a restorative embrace,
Through your healing touch, I find a tranquil space.
Grant me strength to resume life's ebb and flow,
Anointed with your vitality, let my well-being grow.
O Raphael, Archangel, in your loving care I trust,
Through your sacred power, uplift me from the dust.
On this journey of renewal, be my guide and friend,
For in your healing light, my spirit shall ascend.
So mote it be!
Pluto in Capricorn Journaling Prompts
If journaling is something you find restful, you could play with the journaling prompts below. They may help you make sense of what the Pluto in Capricorn transit meant for you. If not, hang onto them for another day or maybe during the upcoming Pluto retrograde later this year.
Reflect on the period when Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008. What aspects of your life were most affected during this time, and how did you adapt to the changes presented by this significant astrological event?
Identify and elaborate on a situation where you experienced a "destructive" phase that later turned out to be transformative, similar to Pluto's role in breaking down outdated structures to make way for new growth.
How have your views on financial stability and economic structures evolved in the past 15 years?
Pluto's influence often reveals the dark sides of power and control. Write about a time when you were confronted with such challenges and how you navigated the ethical dimensions of authority, both in personal and professional contexts.
Explore any shifts in your leadership style or the way you exert authority since the start of Pluto's journey through Capricorn. Have you noticed increased accountability in yourself or others, and how has that impacted you?
Pluto will be entering my 2nd house soon and I can only think this will be a good thing with so many money making opportunities I’m working on
